“Well . . . it’s time.”
“Time for what?”
“Time for self-reflection.”
“But of course,” my alter-ego says. “I do that already. Why would I read your posts if I wasn’t already the sort of person who self-reflects.”
“Yes.”
“Yes, what?” he says.
“Yes, you already self-reflect.”
“So, why suggest I self-reflect when I already do?”
“Because it’s time to peel another layer,” I say. “Yes, we already go deep, but can we not go deeper?”
“Deeper than deep?”
“Deeper than present depth, so that we may begin to see into our blind spots.”
“Blind spots?”
“Yeah, blind spots. We all have them. I have them. You have them. Even the great spiritual visionaries have them.”
“But,” he says, “how can you be so sure that even the spiritual visionaries have blind spots?”
“Because they wouldn’t be here if they didn’t.”
“Here? Here, as in where?”
“Here, as in the Earth School. You know, this thing we call human life.”
“Oh, that. Right. But where else would we be? Planet Zoltron? Nanoo, nanoo?”
“Something like that. The point is we chose this school. We came here to learn.”
“Why would any sane person choose to come here of all places? Never mind, I know what you’re gonna’ say.”
“It’s about blind spots,” I say.
“Blind spots,” he retorts.
“Yeah, we can see them. They’re right in front of us, or rather off to our side. We just have to contort ourselves to perceive them.”
“How about you give me an example, instead of all this conceptual mumbo jumbo.”
