Today is the 2nd Anniversary of the DEEPER side of things
Thanks for reading along and making this possible
At the risk of stating the obvious, time flies. It’s hard to believe it’s been two years and 143 posts since the launch of the DEEPER side of things, but today marks our second anniversary.
It’s been fun, enjoyable, challenging, at times invigorating, at times painful. Seeking always to go deeper means not just accessing the deepest parts of myself, but also forcing myself to go deeper than I had previously considered.
So many times I catch an idea for a post and in the writing of it I learn so much more than I already had a mind for writing about. There is this concept called the Learning Pyramid, which is more anectodical in value than empirical, but a useful concept all the same. It says we retain only about 5% of what we hear in a lecture, 10% of what we read, 20% of what we watch, 30% from demonstrations, 50% from group discussions, 75% of what we practice and 90% of what we teach.
The point being, by writing about, and in a sense, teaching through the posts of the DEEPER side of things I get to go much deeper than if I had never put fingers to the keyboard. By your reading and responding to what I write, you’re encouraging me to keep writing, and by my continued writing I continue to learn even more. In other words, it’s a mutually beneficial relationship.
And so I say thank you. Thank you for two years and however many of my posts you were able to spend time with. I hope you’ve found them valuable and enriching. And here’s to another two years — two more years of peeling the onion.
I can’t say where I’ll go with the content in the future though. In truth, I can never say even from one month to the next what will flow from the ethers of research, meditation, thought, consciousness, and intension. But I’m so glad you’re on this journey with me.
Aho!
